In May of 2013, our church, Christ Lutheran of Milford, MI, was contacted by a congregation in Copper Center, Alaska that needed help. They were looking for a group of volunteers to travel to Copper Center to help give the local children a Vacation Bible School. Just a few weeks later, a group of 12 volunteers packed up, flew into Anchorage, and made the 4-hour journey to Copper Center to bring the amazing word and love of God to the community. The Lord used us to spread the Gospel and our hearts were forever changed. We created this website and blog in 2015 to record our experiences in Alaska and share our mission further.
The 2017 Mission marks our fifth journey to The Last Frontier as we continue our goal of spreading the Good News to the community of Copper Center. This year, we show the children that our God is a Mighty Fortress. We are thrilled to share our upcoming endeavor with you and invite you to pray for the community of Copper Center; the Roeske family, who reached out to us five years ago; and our team’s missionaries, to help us carry out God’s work. Feel free to share our story or contact us if you would like to get involved with our team or the organization as a whole.
Christ Lutheran Church's Alaska Mission team will be having TWO car washes to raise money for the upcoming mission on July 29th and August 5th, both from 12 Noon - 4 PM! Any donations are accepted and appreciated. Come get your car washed and learn a little bit more about the work we do with the children in Alaska, including providing them with meals and spreading the Gospel!
